3 ways your nearest & dearest sabotage your weight loss!!!

You know how it goes....

It's 2pm and it's been a long day. You hit the gym this morning and you have eaten really well, your nutrition has been on point all week.

Lunch was a nutritious meal full of veg and protein.

You have been smashing it.

Then Ethel (Sorry Ethel's) from account's announces it's Fat Friday or some other such silly name.

She strides up to the central office table (it's always next to the photocopier).

Ethel unveils a platter of cakes, crisps and chocolate.

Enough to make Willy Wonka Jealous.

Then this happens....

Ethel marches up to your desk and proceeds to force feed you the Almonds Milk Tray.

Forcing you to retreat into your chair with fear.

You know how this goes once you eat one...
Saboteurs are every where.

In your weight loss goals there is skullduggary everywhere. You need as many allies on your team to help you stay in a calorie deficit.

Sometimes the people around are your worst enemies.

My mum is the worst for trying to feed me up. I'm sure that you know that feeling.

Ethel is trying to get you "join in" at work.

Your friends and SO (significant other) often try to get you eat more or drink more.

"Oh it will be ok"

When you here this line RUN like Usain Bolt in olympic final.

Often there is no real malice in their actions.

I didn't say always did I!

Some people will feel genuinely be upset at your new found weight loss and may really want to sabotage your diet.

Stop the Saboteurs Now

cooking Let me give you some tips on how to deal with intentional and unintentional saboteurs.

1. When you are going to embark on weight loss Tell your family what you are doing and WHY you are doing it. Explain how they can help and get them involved in cooking and preparing meals( this works well with children).

2. You don't have to eat all of the food. I know your mum likes to make sure your well fed, however a plate that looks like Mt. Everest is not going to aid your weight loss. So do this.
When your parents give you too much food then eat what you need and take the leftovers home. You can then freeze the leftovers for when you need it.

3. When your friends are going out for a meal at TGI Fridays then read the menu ahead of time so you know what you can have that keeps you in a calorie deficit. You get to still be social that way.

4. The hardest one... Leave the people who continually try to sabotage your diet out of your life. It's hard but sometimes you have to just leave the people who won't help you.

So there you go an easy way to prevent your nearest and dearest stopping your weight loss.
